Job Description
Painters apply paint, varnishes, and other coatings to a variety of materials and surfaces. You will be working on naval and commercial projects, as well as having the opportunity to travel to different areas in San Diego for residential jobs. Our painters will usually work in teams on bigger projects.
Responsibilities:
Prepare Paint and Surfaces:
Painters must first prepare the surface they are going to paint. After the sandblaster removes any old paint, dirt, etc., the painter will then clean and smooth the surface and let it dry before painting.
Painters must prepare the paint they will use, by using measurement equipment such as viscosity cups, thickness gages, and gloss gages to check the makeup of the paint, and use their understanding of chemistry to mix the appropriate compounds for the job
Responsible for lifting, carrying, and setting up heavy equipment and parts onto racks, into tumbling barrels, or into cabinets
Apply Paint:
Painters use a variety of techniques and tools to paint surfaces. They may use spray equipment, airbrushes, stencils, rollers, or brushes. Painters must use special safety equipment such as self-contained suits or protective eyewear.
Shop Operations:
Preparing parts for the paint shop, steam cleaning motors, and chassis, and other general labor may be included in the sandblaster’s job duties.
Maintenance of Equipment and Work Area:
Part of your responsibility in this role is equipment maintenance and organization. To prevent accidents, it is essential that your work area is clean and orderly, and that any unsafe working conditions are corrected or reported immediately.
You must carefully follow all guidelines for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste.
What will your character be responsible for bringing to the stage?
· Assumes 100% responsibility for the quality, safety/sanitation, and timeliness of projects.
· Responsible for being well-acquainted with company coating services, PPE guidelines, and sanitation/basic safety information
PREFER:
· Certification to use a forklift/ bobcat
· OSHA 10 certification
· C7/C14 Certification
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· 2+ years of experience in sandblasting
• Minimum age of 18 years old
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be in good physical condition
• Must have your birth certificate, social security card, and Photo I.D or passport
• Must be able and willing to work overtime
• Must be a U.S citizen or have a U.S residency card

Pay
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
